In search of some festive, family fun this holiday season? After finding the perfect Christmas tree and sipping some hot chocolate while decorating to your family’s satisfaction, don’t miss these seasonal celebrations. We’ve done the work for you and found the best of what the Central Valley has to offer. This guide lists activities for the whole family, including light displays, celebrations, tree lightings, parades, and more!

Candy Cane Lane in Clovis—Celebrate the holidays with a drive or walk down Cindy Lane, off Peach and Alluvial Avenues, December 1st–25th. Over 100 homes are elaborately decorated with lights, displays and yard art guaranteed to thrill children and adults alike.

Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno—See all of the elaborate light displays and Christmas scenes that transform the houses of Fresno’s Van Ness Boulevard into a magical holiday event beginning December 1st continuing through December 25th. The lane will be open from 6-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. There will be no walk nights this year. 348-9200

Fantasy of Lights in Fresno—Join for some holiday cheer to close out the year at the first-ever Big Fresno Fair’s Holiday Fantasy of Lights Show from December 3rd–January 3rd. Closed Christmas Day. Drive through the winter wonderland with 450 light displays all while enjoying Christmas music, hot cocoa, and more from 5–9 p.m. $20 per vehicle Monday–Thursday, $25 per vehicle Friday–Sunday. Grinch Street in Exeter—Families will enjoy Grinch Street by Harvest Wealth Group in Downtown Exeter. 5 p.m.—10 p.m. after Thanksgiving through the New Year. The Exeter Grinch appears on multiple nights of the show to entertain and interact with viewers. The Grinch Street light show is for the benefit of those in need who are served through the Exeter Food Closet. E. Pine Street, Exeter.

Hometown Christmas Drive-Thru in Madera—Not too many things are more charming than a Hometown Christmas! Families will enjoy the lights, sights, and treats in a Hometown Christmas Drive-Thru. The lighted floats and decorations provided by local businesses and organizations remain stationary while you and your car become the parade! Look out for “Santa’s Shops” that will house Madera County cottage vendors who will be selling treats for your caravan. The Hometown Christmas Drive-Thru is open December 10th–12th from 5–9 p.m. A $5 ticket is required for entry at your choice of time and date. Journey to Bethlehem in Fresno—This live, drive-thru event takes you back to the very first Christmas. Drive through the Marketplace of Jerusalem and the Village of Bethlehem on your way to see the newborn king. December 18th–20th from 6–8 p.m. Approach from the North entrance. Making Spirits Bright in Fresno— Celebrate Christmas with Fresno Pacific University’s drive-through Christmas experience on December 4th and 5th from 6–8 p.m. The main campus will be full of lights and Christmas decorations and visitors will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas from their vehicle. There will be coffee and hot chocolate, hand-outs for kids, and other special surprises, Donations of canned food items will be accepted for the Sunbird Food Pantry. Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree Lighting—Kick off the holiday season on December 5th from 6 p.m. with a celebration in Oakhurst. This year will look a little different, but Christmas isn’t canceled! Please plan to wear and face mask and socially-distance yourself. Public restrooms will not be available. 40307 Highway 41, Oakhurst.

The Living Nativity in Fresno—Come experience the reason for the season through this fun drive-thru event. Enjoy scenes, live animals, caroling, and more! December 11th and 12th from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Life Cathedral Church of God, 6865 N. Maple Avenue, Fresno. 299-4747

Tree Lighting at CrossCity Christian in Fresno—Families are invited to this free event in the courtyard. Enjoy a candle lighting ceremony, cookie decorating, and ornament decorating! December 5th at 7 p.m. CrossCity Christian Church, 2777 E. Nees Avenue, Fresno. 323-9675

Walk of Lights in Fresno—Bundle up the whole family and head out to NorthPointe for a brand new walk-thru spectacle of lights. Experience the hope and joy of the season. December 5th and 6th from 6–8 p.m. NorthPointe Community Church, 4625 W. Palo Alto Avenue, Fresno. 276-2300

ZooLights in Fresno
—A fun family event 5–8 p.m. on December 4th–6th, 11th–13th, 18th–23rd, and 26th–30th. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is transformed into a magical world of lights where families can stroll trough brilliantly lit pathways, take a photo with Santa, and enjoy live entertainment. Tickets: $6–$10. Campfire Christmas Fun in Fresno—Join us around the fire pits and under the Christmas lights in the Northpark Courtyard for a fun, festive evening. Bring a chair and wear something festive! Carriage Rides in Clovis—Take a horse drawn carriage ride through the beautifully decorated streets of Old Town Clovis with the jolly man himself along for the ride on Fridays and Saturdays up until Christmas. Check for times and final details. 298-5774

Christmas at the Woodlands in Visalia—Families will enjoy this new Visalia tradition. Join for a skating rink, food, shopping, music, and more! Country Christmas in Lindsay—Come enjoy a family fun, Country Christmas on the Farm! Holiday Party at Fresno Bully Rescue in Sanger—Bring the whole family, including fido, for treats, cookies, hot cocoa, apple cider, and more! Take a dog-friendly photos all while benefiting a good cause! December 12th from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. This will be an open-air event with social-distancing. All dog must be on leashes. Steam Trains in Reedley—Experience the magic of moonlight stream train rides in this cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Kids will also enjoy play areas and trails. Weekends in December through December 20th from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Train tickets: $4. Photos with Santa will be available the first three weekends from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tree sales will be available from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., daily through December 13th. A Festival of Lessons and Carols in Fresno—An old favorite goes virtual as Fresno Pacific University presents “God So Loved the World—A Festival of Lessons and Carols,” the annual program of Scripture passages and seasonal carols woven together. Enjoy this year’s event free in the comfort of your own home. The program is based on a Church of England service first performed in 1918 at King’s College, Cambridge University. The presentation will be available for viewing now through December 27th and will feature eight FPU music ensembles performing a wide range of historic and contemporary music. Christmas Carol Sing-Along!—Join for a joy-filled Christmas Carol Sing-Along on December 2nd at 7 p.m., live-streamed! Put on your favorite Christmas sweater, have a cup of cocoa and plate of cookies, get in your favorite chair and tune in! We’ll be singing many favorite carols and no singing experience is required! Children’s Christmas Inside Out Parade in Tulare—On December 4th, join for a family cruise at this unique inside out parade. Drive through the fairgrounds to view beautifully decorated displays that celebrate Christmas starting at 6:30 p.m. Tulare County Fairgrounds, 620 S. K Street, Tulare. 685-2350

Fresno’s Downtown Christmas Parade—The 91st annual Downtown Fresno Christmas Parade is on December 12th from 5–8 p.m. This year’s parade will be a reverse parade, with participants decorating on-street parking stalls on Fulton Street between Tulare and Tuolumne Streets. Families will be able to drive down Fulton Street to experience the parade from the coziness of their car. Downtown Fresno. 490-9966

Sanger’s Toyland Parade—This year, the Toyland Parade will look a little different. We will light up the town on December 5th from 5–7 p.m. 14th Street will hold a beautiful display of our traditional floats that the community can enjoy from their cars as they drive through. • North Pole’s most famous resident will be at Fashion Fair Mall’s Center Court through December 24th. Closed on the 7th. Rest assured, the elves have made every effort to provide a memorable and contact-free experience. A visit with Santa is always free. Photo packages are available for purchase.
