Play Groups

Having young children at home can be fun and busy and exhausting, but it can also be lonely! Are you looking for something to do during the week to entertain your kids with the bonus of meeting and interacting with other moms and dads? Central California Parent Magazine is here to help with a list of play groups in your area.

Play groups offer many benefits to both children and parents. Children get to socialize with others their age, and parents meet peers with whom they can share the challenges and joys of raising kids—developing new friendships is valuable for both parent and child. Play groups also provide social and language stimulation as well as the opportunity to try new things and discover new skills. And, of course, play groups are FUN!

Check out our list below and email us if you have a play group you’d like to see included on this page. Happy playing!

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

Central Valley

MOPS is geared towards moms from pregnancy through your youngest child graduating kindergarten. Many locations also offer MOMSnext for moms of school-aged kids. At MOPS, we help moms find community and support. We believe in the simple, but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. Our acronym stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers” because we began in 1973 when a group of moms with young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys. Over the past 49 years, MOPS has expanded our reach to include ALL moms. In addition, we are partnering with churches and organizations worldwide to equip and encourage moms in more than 70 countries.
