Read for Fun!
The summer reading program at your local library is blasting off this month and is chock full of family-friendly events. Your kids will love the performers, story times, movies, arts and crafts, and more. Prizes will be given to kids logging their reading pages to complete the “Read for the Win” Summer Reading Challenge. Get started now at Fresno Library.

Free Books!
Kids can earn a free book by downloading and printing the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Triathlon Reading Journal and answering three of the four questions in the journal, then take the completed journal to your local Barnes & Noble store to choose a free book from the store’s Reading Journal list. You can also download and print the Summer Reading Triathlon Ballot to cast your vote for your favorite hero and place, then deposit in your local B&N’s ballot box. Check it out at Barnes & Noble.

Read for Pizza!
Kids earn 10 free Chuck E. Cheese tokens for a variety of things like reading for two weeks. Download and print the Reading Rewards Calendar to mark off your kid’s progress as he/she completes his/her reading goals. Limited to only one chart per child, per day. Scholastic Books “Be a Reading Superhero” invites kids to read, then track their summer reading minutes on a log to earn rewards. Visit Scholastic for more information.

Book Adventure wants to motivate kids to read this summer also. Kids log in at Book Adventure, choose age-appropriate books, successfully take a quiz on what they’ve read to earn prizes.
